Capacity Building

We wish to achieve sustainable improvement in developing countries with our work. Therefore it is important to us to establish local structures which contribute to improved Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights also in the long term.

Strengthening Civil Society

In 16 countries all over the world, we support non-governmental organisations, political decision-makers and healthcare professionals through training and capacity building. Our range of trainings builds the knowledge and skills of our participants and their organisations, thereby strengthening civil society in developing countries.

We offer a wide variety of trainings, such as peer educator trainings on sexual and reproductive health and rights. DSW's training methodology includes traditional seminars and workshops as well as coaching programmes and online courses. We also serve as an information provider through publications and on the internet.

One focus of DSW's activities lies in Eastern Africa, where we operate three comprehensive training centres in Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania.

Thanks to our long experience, we also conduct courses on behalf of organisations such as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Bank and various Ministries of Health.
